This is a very big moment for our research group. Finally Abdominal Ultrasound (AUS) has been recognised in a guideline for first line use in Necrotising Enterocolitis (NEC). We want to send our congratulations to the various original research authors sited in our review, and again highlight their contribution to make the evidence clear why we need to start transitioning to more advance, readily available and less invasive diagnostic techniques in the neonatal setting.

Thank you to the European Society of paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care (ESPNIC) for considering our article and considering the overwhelming evidence of AUS. Various areas of recommendation of AUS has been updated that progresses imaging diagnostics in NEC.

But now the work starts to train neonatal staff in POCUS to make Point of Care and personalised medicine a reality in the NICU. Formulating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in AUS/POCUS. And loading this data into certalised databases to make Computer aided detection a reality.

We are atleast one step closer..
