Our manuscript of 2019 IEEE conference presentation is now live on IEEE Xplore.

We are delighted to announce that the manuscript of 2019 IEEE conference presentation is now live on IEEE Xplore.

It was exciting to be accepted for iCCECE 2019 and be able to present further ideas to progress NEC reserach to some great minds in computing. I believe there is great benefits in taking NEC's challenges to other fields (like computer engineering and data science) as we can draw expertise from other fields and be inspired by different approaches.

This iCCECE 2019 our focus was to highlight how Ai can help mitigate the risk of missing early signs of NEC and the shrinking radiology workforce in the NHS. The Key findings from the RCR 2019 survey reveal that a majority of NHS trusts had a backlog in unreported radiology studies, affecting around 300,000 patients who are waiting more than a month for results of their tests.A RCR consultant was quoted saying: \"We have a fragile workforce under relentless pressure. My main concern is unsafe patient care"

What the conference has taught me is it's surprising how many challenges have already been overcome in other areas and sometimes you think a challenge is unique when it is not. It's refreshing to learn new approaches and be inspired by completed projects from other teams.

We want to thank your supporters (NEC UK in particular)and sponsors for enabling us to bring our research to the attention of the Computer Science community. This enables us to spark the interest of collaborators, pick the brains of the brightest sparks in the room and bring us closer to our ambitions. Idea's where shared, connections we're made and awareness of challenges in NEC brought to minds of computer experts. And this is all thanks to you.
